Hey, I’m Sam and I’m so grateful that you have stopped by!

Just like you, I am your everyday woman who wears many hats – Myself, mum, wife, friend, businesswoman, colleague, daughter, sister.

My mission is to help women get started and grow into the greatest version of themselves and start practicing positive selfishness, making sure your needs are met first so you can give to others.

I started The Warrioress Mindset to create a community of like minded people who want nothing more than to be the greatest version of themselves and work 1:1 to help you LOVE yourself and your beautiful life.

My growth journey began after I had my first daughter Claire in 2008. I was a young mum who didn’t know anything about nutrition and health and was just taking it one day at a time being the best mum I could be. In 2010 I was getting married and tried everything to lose weight for my wedding, from Atkins to shake diets you name it I tried it to no success. In 2011 I had my second daughter Leaha and decided I needed to lose weight after seeing a picture of myself on a family holiday. I knew I needed to make some changes for my health. Back then there was no Instagram or recommendations on how or where to start on this fitness journey just lots of google and people’s opinions. I tried many different fad diets and joined a boot camp where I lost about 10kg. In September 2011 I fell pregnant with our third child but unfortunately had a miscarriage at 12 weeks in January 2012. I was sad and blamed the loss on myself and became desperate for the third child to complete my family. This took a toll on my relationship as well as my self-worth and mental health. In September I decided that it wasn’t meant to be and that I would focus on the2 beautiful girls I already had and then BAM my little rainbow baby was conceived, and I delivered a healthy baby boy who we named Logan in June 2013. In 2015 I decided I wanted to go back to work, but I couldn’t even get hired in retail store. Unfortunately, most employers saw my years as a full-time mum as a disadvantage. I applied for so many jobs and was turned down nearly every time, a period of continuous rejection…. Until I applied for a job in the health sector, I was lucky enough to be given an interview and show them what an asset I could be to the organization

**(trigger warning) ** After having my son I wanted to lose weight and so from 2013-2020 I tried everything many diets, gym, walking, boot camps, challenges, to the point where I had turned to bulimia to try and help me lose weight. I battled on and off with this eating disorder for many many years. I hit my lowest point in 2020 (like many of us did) and I was obsessive compulsive when it came to exercise and food. I was depressed, had no self-worth and self-confidence, stressed, and had completely lost all sense of myself. One day I took off in my car one day and decided that it was enough, I no longer wanted to be in this world and that my children and husband would be better off without me.  I sat in the car park truly believing this is where they would find me, and I couldn’t have been any lower than I was in that moment. As I sat there a thought crossed my mind, how would they tell Leaha her mum was gone and, in that moment, I knew I couldn’t do this to my family, and I needed help that I couldn’t give myself.

I went home and worked up the courage to find a psychologist who specialized in food and body issues who I saw fortnightly for nearly 1.5 years. During this time, I was encouraged to get an eating disorder mental health plan (which for someone who didn’t believe they had an eating disorder was very difficult). After months of discussion, I agreed to trail a medication to help with my depression and anxiety which I believe was truly the best thing I could have done. (It gets happier I promise 😊)

Fast forward to 2022, I had done so much work on myself, but I still had low self-esteem and self-worth, so I decided to get a fitness and nutrition coach (who I still work with today) as well as a mindset coach. Both women have changed my life and I will be forever grateful, because of them and the work I put in, I am currently in the best shape physically and mentally I have ever been in my life! With my career I have managed to build myself a reputation over the last 7 years later, I have slowly climbed the ladder and now spend my days helping improve Health Departments, developing and delivering innovative projects and have even been asked to speak at a conference all from one interview!
